Is there a fee for using your referral service?
No, the parent never pays a fee to use our referral service.

Does AACPSG inspect the Members homes?
No, we do not.  All of the members of our group are regulated by the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services, which inspects the Members' homes for compliance.

How can I check the Providers' compliance history?

Are all the Providers regulated by the state?
All of our Providers are state regulated. This means they are inspected and that they are required to submit criminal background checks on themselves and family members 14 years and older, are required to have CPR/ First Aid training, as well as other annual training.

How many children can the provider keep?
The number of children a registered or licensed child care home may care for varies according to the ages of the children in care.  Generally speaking, a registered home will have no more than 6 children under 5 to one provider. A licensed child care home may care for more children, depending on the ages of the children.

How much do the providers charge?
Each child care home is an independent business with their own fee schedule.

How much does it cost to join?
The annual Membership dues are $50.00 per year, and are not pro-rated, so join early to get the most benefits. The Membership fee covers the cost of our meeting facility, Speakers, Monthly Newsletter, Website upkeep, PO Box rental and other necessary expenses.

How often do you meet?
We met on the second Monday of each month from 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. (7:00 - 9:00 in January for our SIDS training)

Will I get a training certificate?
Yes.

How many training hours can I get each year?
We offer 11 trainings each year, totaling 17 hours.  We also offer an on-line self-study course each quarter, which offers another 8 hours each year.

Do I have to attend the meeting in order to get referrals?
No.  We strongly encourage you to attend as many meetings as you can, but we know you have other commitments, too, and don't think you should be penalized when you cannot attend.

Can I come to the trainings even if I don't join?
Non-Members may attend our trainings for a fee of $10.00 per session, but are not eligible for referrals, and will not receive a monthly newsletter.
