Why Choose Home Child Care? Home
is Where The Heart Is! Because the Provider/Child ratio is generally smaller than that of a commercial childcare
facility, the provider and child are better able to form a bond that can last a lifetime! When children feel secure in their
environment, they are better able to grow emotionally, cognitively and socially. For
Their Health! A recent article (PEDIATRICS Vol. 103 No. 4 April 1999, pp. 753-758) shows children in center-type
childcare environments are much more likely to suffer upper-respiratory illnesses than children in family style or in-home
care. Many Pediatricians routinely suggest parents find an in-home environment for children whose parents must work. Who Uses Home Child Care? According to a national study conducted by the
Urban Institute (2000) about 38% of children under age 5 whose parents work attend some type of family-style child care.

HOW DO I FIND A PROVIDER? To find a Child Care Provider near you, click
on the "Find a Provider" tab. There you will find links to our providers' information. If there are no
providers near you, consider looking outside your immediate area-along your route to work, or closer to your workplace for
instance. Many parents feel that finding the right child care environment for their child is more important than convenience.
Once you have found the right Provider for you, please inform them that you found their name on our website. We are not a
referral agency, and neither the Parent nor the Provider pays a fee for this service. You can check a Provider's compliance
history by accessing the Childcare Licensing Website. See the providers' most recent licensing report, see Minimum Standards and other information you need to know before
you decide on a childcare facility.
